DHARAMSHALA, June 10: A high level US delegation including Under Secretary Uzra Zeya, the Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues appointed by the Biden administration held a meeting with the Dalai Lama and senior officials of the Central Tibetan Administration including President Penpa Tsering in Delhi on Sunday. The meeting drew a sharp reaction from the Chinese government.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the head of the Tibetan administration in exile was accompanied by Norzin Dolma, the minister of Information and International Relations, Tencho Gyatso, president of the International Campaign for Tibet, and several other senior Tibetan officials during in the meeting. The US delegation included Donald Lu, assistant secretary for South and Central Asian affairs, US ambassador Eric Garcetti, and USAID deputy assistant administrator Anjali Kaur.
China criticized the meeting, calling it interference in its domestic affairs. Wang Xiaojian, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Delhi, took to Twitter to express China’s stance. He stated that Tibet’s affairs are purely internal affairs of China, and no external forces have the right to interfere. Wang questioned the concept of the US Special Coordinator for Tibet Issues, referring to it as “pure offence and a move of political manipulation to interfere in China’s internal affairs.” He also reiterated China’s firm opposition to such meetings and emphasized that China has never recognized the position of the US Special Coordinator.
Furthermore, Wang Xiaojian labelled the Tibetan government-in-exile as an “out-and-out separatist political group” and an illegal organization that violates China’s Constitution and laws.
This is not the first time high-ranking US officials have engaged with the Dalai Lama, leading to criticism from China. In May 2022, during her visit to India, Uzra Zeya had previously met with the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala. At that time, China’s foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian criticized the meeting, calling it an interference in China’s internal affairs and urging the US to abide by its commitment that Tibet is a part of China.
China has consistently expressed reservations about such engagements with the Dalai Lama, considering him a separatist leader. In contrast, the Dalai Lama has maintained that he seeks autonomy for Tibet, not independence from China. In a recent interaction with reporters at Kangra Airport, Himachal Pradesh, the Dalai Lama reiterated that they are not seeking independence and have decided to remain a part of the People’s Republic of China. He also expressed willingness to engage with the Chinese side, stating that China is changing and has realized the strength of the Tibetan people.
The US has shown support for the Tibetan people’s aspirations for religious freedom, cultural preservation, and autonomy. However, China views Tibet as an integral part of its territory and strongly criticizes foreign involvement in Tibetan affairs. The meeting between US officials and the Dalai Lama aligns with past engagements between senior US officials and representatives of the Tibetan government in exile, despite efforts to improve US-China relations.
The discussions between the US delegation and the Dalai Lama are believed to have covered various topics, including the current situation in Tibet, efforts to promote dialogue with China, and ways to enhance support for the Tibetan cause on the global stage.

It is good that Uzra Zeya, the Special Coordinator for Tibet has met HH The Dalai Lama in New Delhi recently. President Joe Biden made an election pledge to meet the Dalai Lama and I sincerely hope he keeps his election promise. The Chinese scrooge by the name of Wang Xiaojian who seems to be an insolent fellow blurted nonsense from his foul mouth. He should realise that the TIBET WAS NEVER PART OF CHINA AT ANY TIME IN ITS HISTORY OF MORE THAN TWO THOUSAND YEARS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 127 BC. IT IS CURRENTLY UNDER ILLEGAL, BRUTAL CHINESE COLONIAL OCCUPATION. THE TIBETAN MOVEMENT IS A NATIONAL LIBERATION MOVEMENT AND NOT A SEPARATIST ENTITY. The Chinese communist Party is a killer regime! It has slaughtered 80 million of its own people and people like Tibetans and Uyghurs in occupied territories. It has slaughtered 87,000 Tibetans during the great Tibetan National Uprising of March 10 1959. This information was retrieved from Chinese PLA records when Tibetan freedom fighters in Mustang ambushed PLA convoys passing from occupied East Turkistan to occupied Tibet in the 1970s!
The Chinese illegal occupation of Tibet has resulted in the death of 1.4 million Tibetans, more than 6,000 Historic monasteries and libraries vandalised and the plunder of not only our nation but our precious resources and national treasures. The CCP pillaged 100,000 metal and bronze statues. Thousands of gold and silver statues, golden butter lamps and water offering bowls and countless thankas. Our libraries were burned down and the holy Buddhist scriptures were made into bon- fires! The evil CCP had the audacity to call this vandalism, pillaging and destruction, “liberation”!!!!!!!
Communism is a scourge to humanity and the Chinese Stalinist communism is satanic! This evil was responsible for not only the death of eighty million people but it also killed four hundred million babies as a direct result of its one child policy. Today, it’s I’ll-fated policies are reaping the result in the form drastic population decline so much so that the CCP is offering free fertility treatment to girls as young as 15 years of age!!!! It executes its citizens on a industrial scale and has mobile execution units all across China, Tibet and all other occupied territories. The statistics of execution is a state secret but it is widely believed that Commy China executes more people than the whole of world’s execution put together! It shows how blood thirsty is the CCP!
The Wuhan virus is not a natural mutation but created as a part of its unrestricted warfare against the west! Why did the CCP hide it for six weeks from the world and gave directive to its doctors not to reveal the presence of the deadly virus? Owing to the callous disregard of the CCP for human life, the virus was allowed to spread across the world devastating the entire globe. WHO estimates that 15 million human beings died of Wuhan virus which is attributed to the CCP’s machination.
It is inexplicable that CCP officials seem to have an air around them!!! They should in fact hang their heads in shame that people in Hong Kong are leaving their homes and seek refuge in the UK. It should have been a great joy for the Hong Kongers to be “re-United with the motherland” when Hong Kong was handed over to Communist China on 30th of June 1997. Instead, thousands of Hong Kongers left Hong King even before the handover! The British Government had to issue British Over Seas Passport to ensure that people of Hong Kong felt safe once the territory was handed to the CCP. All promises made to Britain was broken and Hong Kong’s freedom eroded which culminated in mass demonstrations in the territory in 2019-2021. Today, it’s a police state and all freedoms have been snuffed out. Ninety thousand Hong Kongers have left for Britain mostly in Manchester and it will morph into three hundred thousand in the following years! Equal number of Hong Kongers have departed to Canada, Australia, US, Singapore and Taiwan. This shows the Hong Kong people have more trust and faith in the British Government who were their colonial masters than the motherland’s CCP!!! This should make the Chinese communists think about themselves and find out why even Chinese people have only disdain for the CCP!!! Since the Wuhan virus, the CCP is the most HATED CRIMINAL DISPENSATION IN THE WORLD! It is the greatest threat to world peace, democracy, freedom and human dignity! IT IS THE SICK MAN OF ASIA!
