DHARAMSHALA, Dec. 9: Exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed sadness over the death of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and 11 others, including his wife who perished in a fatal helicopter crash in the forests of the Coonoor ghat in the Nilgiris in western Tamil Nadu on Wednesday afternoon.

“It is with great sadness that I learn that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, and others travelling with him lost their lives today in a fatal helicopter crash. I pray for the General and his companions and offer my heartfelt condolences to the members of the families of all those who perished in this unfortunate accident.

“I salute General Rawat’s long-standing contribution in the service of the nation,” the Tibetan leader wrote in statement released by his office on Thursday.

The General was on a visit to Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington in the Nilgiris to address the faculty and student officers of the ‘Staff Course’ when the chopper crashed barely 10 km from the landing site, the Hindu reported. Lone survivor of the crash Group Capt. Varun Singh is in a “critical but stable” condition, according to the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The General was a vocal critic of China and have said that India’s biggest enemy is China and not Pakistan. “If their law allows transgression into Indian land, there will be contestation… We should not come under any pressure from the psychological games played by China. That is what they want. China is our biggest enemy today, not Pakistan,” Rawat said at the Times Now Summit 2021.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing his grief tweeted, “Gen Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier. A true patriot, he greatly contributed to modernising our armed forces and security apparatus. His insights and perspectives on strategic matters were exceptional. His passing away has saddened me deeply. Om Shanti”.

The cause of the crash has not been ascertained as of now but a probe has been ordered, sources said.

  1. Many Tibetans will feel General Bipin Rawat as some one far removed from their lives. Bipin Rawat was a student of Cambrian Hall School in Dehradun in Uttarkand. I joined Cambrian Hall in 1968 while Bipin Rawat joined in 1969. There were altogether 30 Tibetan students (both boys and girls) studying in Cambrian Hall from mid-1970s until end of eighties. Most of us were day scholars but there were few boarders as well.
Bipin Rawat was a boarder and was a popular boy. All the teachers at the school loved Tibetan students. We were regarded as well mannered and studious. Some of us were appointed prefects of the school. Without blowing my own trumpet I was also one of the Tibetan boys selected as a School prefect in 1970. It was a great honour and I enjoyed the authority and status of the school leadership.
Cambrian Hall was founded in 1954 by Col. Shashi Shumshere Jung Bahadur Rana and it has four houses. Mainwaring, Jodha, Doutre and Edward House. Mr Doutre was the principal during my days at school but he suddenly passed away in 1970. Mr Tuck succeeded him. I graduated in 1971 and Bipin Rawat left Cambrian Hall in 1972.
It has 1500 students and is a co-education school.
One of the teachers which Rawat admired was Mr Shanti Swarup. General Bipin Rawat was invited as the Chief guest during the Annual School Founders Day in 2017. To every ones surprise he came with his school uniform! He was so humble he touched the feet of Mr Shanti Swarup even though by now he was a decorated General of the Indian Army. He knew the Tibetans studying with him and the story of Tibet. I joined the NCC (National Cadet Corps) for two years, which was a stepping stone to military career but being Tibetan and a foreigner, we were not eligible. As we saw, he became a critic of China and he was only the second person in India who called out China’s threat to India after George Fernandez dared to brand China as the biggest enemy of India. He carried the school motto: To greater Heights in real life and made Cambrian Hall proud. I still treasure my school Identity Card and is still with me!

  2. There is reason to believe that the shocking death of India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)General Rawat was a sabotage by a foreign power who is bend upon to keep India firmly incapacitated in waging war against it. The needle of suspicion falls on the CCP. It has an eerie resemblance to the death of Taiwan’s top general 62 year old, Chief of General Staff Shen Yi-Ming and seven other colleagues whose US made Black Hawk helicopter crashed in the mountains near Taipei in 2020. He and several top military officials were on a routine mission to visit soldiers in the North East of Yilan county. The situation in the Taiwan strait was tense since the 2020 election was around the corner with President Tsai Ing-wen running for her second term. The US Black Hawk helicopters are the best in the world and they had been inspected and were in very good shape when it unexpectedly crashed.
Likewise the Russian made MI-17 V5 are known for their manoeuvrability and are the best in the Russian war fighting machine. Mysteriously, the helicopter lost contact with traffic control seven minutes before reaching Wellington in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. General Rawat was also visiting Defence Services Staff to address the faculty and student officers undergoing one-year training there. How can such an uncanny resemblance be ignored? Communist China is at war with Taiwan and India. In the book authored by ex-PLA officers called for unrestricted war against its enemies. The CCP is waging cyber war, economic war, psychological war and propaganda against its opponents.
It has good reason to kill the highest military personnel of Taiwan and India to demoralise the armies and the population of the two countries. This is one of the biggest tactic of the CCP.
When the Dalai Lama visited China in 1954, they were taken to Chinese air shows, where they were made to witness the acrobatics of their air men which made many of the members of the entourage lose heart after seeing the massive show of force and their agility in the air. It was a deliberate attempt to make the Tibetans cower under the might of the CCP. Besides, General Rawat recently declared China was the greater threat to India than Pakistan. He also reminisced Sarder Patel’s letter to Pandit Nehru and stated that Chinese presence in Tibet was the source of instability in the Himalayas!
He also stated that the Wuhan virus was a biological warfare! Therefore the CCP has every reason to liquidate those that poses a threat to its interests.
It is speculated that the CCP is waging genetic warfare against its perceived enemies. They get the genes of their opponents and through this they are able to recognise the victims using artificial intelligence and then fire laser beams to cause explosions or cyber attack to immobilise the computers to make them crash.
The Chinese have been very keen to have a hair of the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama himself admitted this to the western press citing information gleaned from Tibet. This was corroborated by a rogue Tibetan man, called Dhamcho Nyima who claimed to have been in contact with Chinese secret service after he burned the Green Book of the Tibetan Exiles. According to him, he was contacted by the Chinese MSS ( The Ministry of State Security) and invited to China. He also claims the Chinese asked him if he had contact with the Dalai Lama’s institution. When answered in the affirmative, they pleaded with him to get a strand of the Dalai Lama’s hair!
You have to wonder why would the Chinese want the Dalai Lama’s hair? Are they planning to clone Him? Probably not so for what other reason? It was to collect his genetic material for future clandestine use! They sent at least two assailants who masqueraded as Tibetan refugees but were caught and jailed. They then changed track to collect genetical material to commit the crime.
