Narayanan’s Death Mourned

Dharamshala 11 Febuary: The offices of the exile Tibetan government was closed after 4 PM yesterday to mourn the passing away of the former president K.R Narayanan on 9 November.

Narayanan was the first and the only Dalit to become the president of India.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies and the Kashag today expressed their condolence to the family members of the former Indian President, K.R. Narayan, who passed away yesterday, says the the exile government’s website.

An official prayer ceremony was held later in the evening at the premises of the exile Tibetan government.

Narayanan was cremated with full state honor yesterday in the Indian capital.
