The girls said despite their staying in the same hotel why were they being overcharged, and left the hotel. Immediately after that, the owner of the hotel sped into his SUV car and mowed down the four girls killing three and injuring another.

The police, the source said, were pressurized by the influential business family which owned the hotel. On September 26, relatives, family members and friends of the victims carried out a sit in protest in front of the police station demanding justice for the victims family. They carried placards in Chinese and Tibetan, and pictures of the three deceased girls.

The police had organized a meeting after the agitation. The injured girl had told the police that the accused was accompanied by another man but the police had agreed to the claim of the accused that he was alone in the car.

The condition of the injured girl can not be ascertained as of now.
