December 10, 2009 – Rotary Lhasa Bylakuppe, a new International Rotary Club was formed officially at Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement, making it the first of its kind in the Tibetan community.
The chief guest of the evening, district governor of Rotary Club G.K. Balakrishnan presented the certificate of acceptance to the first president of the Tibetan Rotary Club, Lobsang Dorjee, at a function held at the Tibetan settlement yesterday coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize conferment on His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Also present at the event were Gyari Bhutuk, member of Tibetan Parliament, Representative of Lugsung Samdupling Settlement and caretaking representative of Dickyi larsoe Settlement and representative of Mainpat Tibetan Settlement.
