Dharamshala,Dec. 31 – Taiwanese rock band Shan-ling and lead singer Freddy, were in town for an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to seek the Tibetan leader’s blessings for a free concert to be held in Taiwan in March next year. According to a report by Tibet Post, the musicians hope that such a concert will educate the Taiwanese youth about Tibet, and generate awareness about freedom, democracy, and human rights through music.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama told them that the Taiwanese youth should protect democracy, freedom, and human rights. An invitation for the concert was also extended to His Holiness by the band. While in Dharamshala, the two will also visit the Central Tibetan Administration, the Tibetan Children’s Village school, the Ex-Political Prisoners’ Association (Gu-Chu-Sum), and the International Tibetan Support Network (ITSN) to learn more about the exiled Tibetan situation.
