Barcelona, Spain December 18 – A “Tibet Festival” was held here from 9th to 14th December, reported Casa Del Tibet (The Tibet House Foundation).
The Tibet House Foundation has been organising the special event every year.
The festival aims to generate awareness about Tibetan Culture and religion. It also educates people about the political situation inside Tibet and garner support. Artistes like Ani Choying Drolma, Lama Gyurme, Namgyal Lhamo were invited to perform at the event. Also present to give his personal experience of suffering in Chinese prisons rule 33 years was noted former political prisoner Ven. Palden Gyatso whose autobiography “Fire under the snow” became so popular that it was translated into many languages.
A documentary film by the same name as his book and directed by Japanese filmmaker Makoto Sasa, was screened. A question and answer session with the Director of Tibet House Barcelona,Thubten Wangchen, was also held at the event.
