Bylakuppe Tibetan Students protest in Mysore

Mysore, March 22 – More than 350 students of TCV Bylakuppe marched the streets of Mysore in protest against the recent heavy crackdown by the Chinese Army on peaceful Tibetan protestors in Tibet.

Students left Bylakuppe at 7:00am and reached the Mysore Town Hall at 9:00am. After talks by student leaders they marched to the DC Office to hand over their memorandum. The Students were carrying photos of Tibetan protestors brutally killed by the Chinese army in Tibet. They also demonstrated how the Chinese PLA treated Tibetans in Tibet.

On the 19th of March, more than 8000 Tibetans and Indians gathered at the Jangcub Stupa for a candlelight vigil. Organized by the Bylakuppe Chapter of India-Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS) the event was covered by almost all local newspaper and TV channels.

Under the banner of South Zone ITFS core group, Tibetan and Indian supporters from Bylakuppe, Hunsur and Kollegal will gather in Mysore on March 26th for a protest march in the morning and a candlelight vigil in the evening. More than 5000 people are expected to gather for the protest march.
