Buddhist Community of Chile (South America) held a peaceful vigil outside the Chinese Embassy in Santiago, the Capital of Chile, on March 17, 2008.
More than one hundred Dharma practitioners from various groups attended the vigil outside the Chinese Embassy, carrying Tibetan flag, placards, and candles.
The participants called on the Chinese government to restrain the repression in Tibet and resolve the issue through peaceful dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his representatives.
The vigil manifests the Chilean Buddhists solidarity with the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom, dignity and peace and also symbolizes their joining with the international community to raise concern about the deteriorating situation in Tibet.
