Central Tibetan Administration offers aid to Tibetan blast victims

Dharamsala: As a token of solidarity, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) offered aid package to the Tibetans injured in the recent grenade attack in Amarnath, Srinagar on 17 July.

There has been initial report in some radio news service concerning eight Tibetan shopkeepers injured in the grenade blast.

As the fact ascertained by Srinagar Tibetan sweaters sellers welfare committee, out of eight Tibetans injured in the blast, seven are currently undergoing medical treatment in a government hospital in Srinagar.

The Central Tibetan Administration offered an ex gratia of Rs 10,000 to Ngodup and his wife Kelsang of Dickyiling Tibetan settlement, Dehradun, who had undergone surgery after being seriously injured in the incident.

The others injured, Dawa Bhutti, Passang Lhamo and Kunga of Dickyiling settlement were given Rs 5000 each.

Another Rs 5000 was offered to Dhondup, Uttam and Manikala from Darjeeling under special privilege for being Tibetan but not registered Tibetan refugees.

The Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration lauded the help and solidarity rendered to the injured by other fellow Tibetan shopkeepers in Srinagar.

Mr. Yusuf Naik, a retired Tibetan Civil Servant residing in Srinagar, has offered the relief package as a representative of Department of Home, CTA, since the Department’s Representative at Leh Ladakh is currently making preparation for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Ladakh on 31 July.
