Tibetans and Supporters at Chinese National Skiing final in Switzerland

Titlis/Zurich, February 3 – Activists of Tibetan Youth Association in Europe and support groups jointly protested successfully during today’s China skiing final on Titlis Mountain in Switzerland. 30 skiers from China including some celebrities took part in this last round. Previously, three matches had been held in Beijing. More than 20 chinese journalists, photographers and cameramen from in and outside China covered this event which was organized by China’s and Switzerland’s Tourism institutions.
The activists unfurled two banners saying “FREE TIBET” and “Protest in Beijing” in chinese language. They called attention to the illegal occupation of Tibet and the ongoing violations of human rights in Tibet and China.

At the conclusion of the final, a tibetan Snowboarder with a Tibet-Flag spread red dye on the piste to symbolize the suppression and arbitrary executions of Tibetans by the Chinese government.
