Dharamsala, February 21 – The sun has shied away to welcome the first winter rainfalls which was immediately followed by a much awaited but untimely snowfall in this crowded hilltown of Himachal Pradesh. But the sun is back again and has started to throw its rays on the snowy Dhauladhar ranges as if to give Mcloed Ganj a glittering Losar (Tibetan New Year)

But it’s a season for workshops in Dharamsala now. It all began with a month’s workshop for fresh government employees at Sarah Institute of Dialectics. Organised by the Public Service Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration, the training programme is aimed at making the young government staffers as efficient as required by their jobs.

This was followed by a 12-day training program on research and analysis at the Lhakpa Tsering hall of the Department of Information and International relations. Gabriel Lafitte, an Australian Tibetologist, gives tips on how to conduct research works to a group of young Tibetan enthusiasts from within the Tibetan government and outside it.

The Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Chandigarh, today opened a workshop for youngsters at the EDRC, T.C.V School. Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, the Kalon Tripa, was the chief guest for a modest function held today to begin the programme.

This is not all. An eight-day workshop on ‘leadership values’ began yesterday at the Ghangkyi staff mess where around thirty young Tibetans gathered to attend the training programme organised jointly by the Taiwan Canada Tibet Support Group and National Democratic Party of Tibet. The workshop has resource persons from as far as Canada and Taiwan to teach the Tibetan youths the basics of leadership.
