Dharamsala, March 14 – This year’s Gyalyum Chenmo Memorial Gold Cup will feature various football clubs unlike the usual regional teams. The Tibetan National Football Association had announced this recently. The regional chapters of Tibetan Youth Congress earlier used to conduct the selection rounds from various regions for the most coveted football tournament of the exile community. The decision was taken as only two chapters of Tibetan Youth Congress have agreed to conduct the selection rounds this year.
The last date for registration of teams has now been extended to 31 March. “We have received a very few teams till date and we are afraid many people don’t know about the change,” said Mr. Kalsang Dhondup, the Secretary of the first and only sports association of the Tibetan community.
