Warsaw, March 10: About 50 people held demonstration at Chinese Embassy in Warsaw, protesting against human rights violations in Tibet and demanding release Tibetan political prisoners. Demonstration was organized on 48 anniversary of Tibetan uprising against Chinese.
Protesters held Tibetan flags, shouting slogans „Free Tibet”, „China out of Tibet” and „Release political prisoners”. Group of Tibetans living in Poland sing their national anthem.
“We commemorate 1,2 mln victims of Chinese occupation of Tibet and remind about those who still are suffering repressions” – told Piotr Cykowski, Deputy President of The Polish Tibetan Friendship Association. As he mentioned, there is no agreement for China as an undemocratic country “to organize Olympic Games in 2008 without protest of international community”.
During demonstration was presented Statement by Tibetan spiritual leader – His Holiness the Dalai Lama, issued on 48th anniversary of uprising day. Tibetan leader wrote that autonomy and rights of minorities are guaranteed by Chinese constitution, but Chinese policies shows contradictory in these regulations.
