Over 100 members of the Italia-Tibet Support Group and Tibetans held a rally in Rome, Saturday, 12 March to commemorate the 46th Tibetan National Uprising Day, 10 March 1959.
Mr. Tenzin Samphel, representing the Tibetan Bureau in Geneva read the Statement of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Other speakers included Honorable Gianni Vernetti, President of the Italian Parliamentary Group for Tibet and Mr. Ugo Papi, President of the Italia-Tibet Friendhip Association, and Mr. Tashi Lama, President of the Tibetan Community in Italy.
The candle light vigil was held in front of the famous monument Colosseo and concluded with prayers of the words of truth (Tsemey Yonten) and the Tibetan national anthem.
