“Glimpse of Tibet”

The RTYC, Baroda has organized a project called “Glimpse of Tibet” for two days, i.e., 15th and 16th of Dec. 2004. The project was started with a speech from the president giving the introduction of the project and the Tibetan culture. It was followed by the cultural programme pf Tibetan songs and dances. The cultural programme was concluded with a speech from the chief guest, Prof. Navale (students dean of M.S.University) on Tibet and its culture. There after, all the exhibition were left open for the Indian masses till nine o’clock in the night.

For the whole day there was good number of people coming to the exhibition and getting themselves informed about Tibet culturally, historically, politically and religiously. Signature campaigns for Tulku Tenzin Delek and Panchan Lama was also made along the exhibition. Then in the evening by six oclock documentaries were screened for interested Indians till nine in the night.

Then for the second day, same thing has been repeated and the attention from Indians is much better than that of the first day. Finally the project was ended joyfully at nine in the night with a Tibetan gorshe from all the Tibetan students working for the project.

For the two days we had some thousands of Barodians and other Indians who visited our programme. And there were overwhelming attention from the presses for both the days.

The project consist of:

  • Culture presentation
  • Tibetan song and dance
  • Exhibition of religious artefacts
  • Tibetan arts (Thangka painting)
  • Books cum photo exhibition
  • Movies on Tibet
  • Information center
  • Tibetan products

Objectives:

  1. The main objective of organizing this project is to create awareness among the Indian masses and to generate their support in solving the issue of Tibet.
  2. To preserve Tibetan culture and religion.
  3. To strengthen the spirit of freedom struggle among Tibetan.
  4. To motivate our Tibetan students or youth towards our freedom struggle by allocating different responsibilities to each individual.

The same project will be held in Ahmedabad, Gugarat on 20th and 21st of Dec. 2004 soon after two days.
