The annual report of the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy says Chinese atrocities in the occupied Tibet continued in 2002 when an activist, Lobsang Dhondup, was hanged.

For the first time, China has sentenced a dissident on charges of terrorism. Wang Bingzhang, a longtime resident of the United States, was jailed for life for allegedly plotting to blow up the Chinese embassy in Thailand as well as roads and bridges in China itself.
