New Delhi, February 23 – Sumico Online today released the first issue of the monthly video news called ‘ Bod Gyalo’ to coincide with the Lhasol celebration of the New Year simultaneously at Delhi, Kathmandu and Dharamsala by Mr.Tashi Wangdi and Mr. Wangchuk Tsering, representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Mr. Sonam Choephel, Tibetan Welfare Officer respectively.
Except on special occasions, all the issues will focus on four broad themes such as news of the month, Tibetan pride- highlighting a Tibetan entrepreneur or social worker, Tibetan values and a social issue every month. This 55 minutes duration, monthly news and views is available both on VHS and CD format.
This Sumico Online production hopes to fulfill the following objectives:
1. Creating job opportunities among the Tibetan youths by training them on electronic media.
2. Working as a bridge between the exile government and the people thus promoting genuine democracy in the exile community.
3. Connecting our youths in the west to the community in India by imparting information on exile government, settlement and monasteries.
4. Carrying the most valued teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the members of the community.
