Heavy and continuos downpour on 29 June caused a rapid flooding in the area killing a woman, 42, and her elder son and injuring her husband, 30 and their younger son, 13 (a monk at Khangsar monastery). The latter two are receiving treatment in a hospital in the county.
Pictures of livestock buried under heavy piles of mud could be seen on social networking sites including Facebook.
Three day earlier, on 26 June, another incident of heavy rain at Ngaba and Kyungchung Counties have led to the death of two elderly Tibetans believed to be in their seventies.
