2 monks arrested in Barkham county in Ngaba

Dharamsala, August 15 – Two Tibetan monks have been arrested by Chinese authorities in Barkham County in Ngaba Prefecture last week, Tsering, a monk of Kirti monastery here told phayul.

Sothar, 38, and Dhargay, 26, were monks of Tsoduen monastery in Barkham County. Tsering added that the two were arrested separately and the reason for their arrests is not known as yet.

Both the monks held positions in monastic administration of their monastery, according to Tsering, who further said that it is not known where the two are currently held.
