His Holiness to visit Spain & France in october, 2003

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is visiting the capitals of Spain and France from October 7 to 17, 2003. It will the 6th visit to Spain and 19th to France.

The visit to Madrid is taking place at the invitation of Comite de Apoyo al Tibet (CAT email: tibetcat@teleline.es), a Tibet Support Group. The two days programmes will include lectures on “Secular Ethics” organised by Club Siglo XXI and on “A Human Approach to World Peace” organised by the Club of Madrid and a public Conference at the Prince Felipe Auditorium of the Hotel Auditorium of Madrid, organised by CAT, on “Universal Responsibility”.

The week-long stay in Paris consists of programmes such as lectures on Introduction to Buddhism, a public lecture on the topic of ” Peace Through Inner Peace”, teaching on Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Bodhichitta & Nagarjuna’s Praising the Emptiness, the Mitrukpa Initiation – all taking place at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, and organised by Compassion Paris 2003, email: inscription@dalailama-paris2003.com.

Besides these His Holiness will grace the Closing Ceremony of “Devenir”, organised by Fondation France-Liberte, at La Villette at the request of Madam Mitterrand and also inuagurate “Help Us to Save Tibetan Children”, a conference organised by Aide a l’Enfance Tibetaine, at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy.

The Paris visit and the teachings are organised by Compassion Paris 2003, an association which has been formed specifically for the visit consisting of Tibetan Buddhists Centres in France, namely Dharma Ling of Paris, Kagyu Dzong, Kalachakra, Padma Ling, Rigpa and Yungdrung Bon.

His Holiness will leave for Berlin from Paris.
