DHARAMSHALA, Mar. 1: In a remarkable display of sporting feat, Tashi Tsering, a 21-year-old Tibetan athlete, etched his name in the annals of Chinese sports history by breaking the national half marathon record at the Meishan Renshou Half Marathon held in Ren Shou, Meishan City, China, on October 25.

Clocking in at 1 hour, 1 minute, and 58 seconds, Tashi Tsering’s performance not only secured his victory in the race but also shattered the previous national record, which was held by Dong Guojian with a time of 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 51 seconds set in 2009.

Born on November 16, 2002, Tashi Tsering has emerged as a rising star in the world of long-distance running, representing not only his Tibetan heritage but also the spirit of sporting excellence. His achievement in breaking China’s national half marathon record marks a significant milestone in his promising career, setting a new benchmark for aspiring athletes across the nation. As a reward for his performance, Tashi Tsering was awarded a prize of 200,000 yuan.
