TYC Activists Storm Chinese Embassy in New Delhi

33 TYC members staged an aggressive campaign today at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi at around 17:15 hrs. 8 youths including a woman led by Mr. Tsultrim Dorjee, Information Secretary of TYC managed to cross into the Chinese Embassy boundary. After some 30 minutes of forceful protest within and around the embassy premises, all the members were arrested and detained at the Chanakyapuri Police Station. The DCP South Delhi Mr. Anand Mohan, ACP’s and SHO’s held an unusual meeting at Chanakyapuri Police Station. So far, the cases registered against the TYC activists are not known.

Some members were injured and the on duty police officer said all members will be taken for medical examinations and treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The eldest among arrested members Mr. Dorjee Tsetan, aged 69 is from Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of Shimla and the youngest among them Mr Lobsang Tsering, aged 25, is from Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Dharamshala.

Mr Dhondup Dorjee, Vice President of TYC said “Todays protest is to condemn the CCP’s brutal killings of peaceful Tibetan Protestors and
its violent crackdown on our people. Tibetans all over the world will stage numerous campaigns and activities if our demands are not fulfilled”

All the 33 members, including 8 female members represented TYC regional chapters from Manali, Dharamshala, Shimla, Nainital, Mainpat and Darjeeling.

TYC reaffirms its demand for the complete independence for Tibet as the ultimate aspiration of the 6 million Tibetans and pledges to sacrifice
what ever our struggle may take of us.
