Buddha Poornima celebrations on Monday

MYSORE, May 22 – More than 10,000 Tibetans will take part in the Buddha Poornima celebrations on Monday at Bylakuppe in Periyapatna taluk in Mysore district.

The Tibetan schools, banks and others offices will be closed on eve of the celebrations. The families in Gurupura, Bylakuppe settlements from Seramey Serajey, Namdroling, Tashilhunpa, Kagyud, Sakya will visit monasteries to take part in celebrations and seek blessing of lord Buddha. While, Lamas in different monasteries would offer special prayers. The Tibetans would also witness increase in number of visitors and tourists on Monday.

Special prayers will also be held at Mahabodhi society on eve of the Buddha Poornima celebrations. The Tibetans considered next year’s Buddha Poornima as most auspicious. Special programmes will be held in all monasteries and other similar religious institutions.
