South Indians Women Forum for Free Tibet formed

Bylakuppee, August 26 – A meeting of the Members of the India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS), Mr. Tinley Gyatso and Mr Karma Damdul, Representatives of Luksum Samdupling and Dikyi Larso Tibetan settlement and Regional Tibetan women’s association was held at Bylakuppe, South India. 25 Indian women belonging to the cross section of the society, mostly Coffee planters and Rotarians from Kushalnagar and the surrounding towns were invited. Mr P.K.Devaiah spoke at length about the issue of Tibet and motivated them to extend their support, which came forward spontaneously.
After deliberations and discussions, it was unanimously decided to form a separate women’s TSG group called as “ South Indian Women Forum for Free Tibet” (SIWFFT) Following members were elected as office bearers.

PRO: Mrs Rekha Subbaiah, Lecturer, Womens college, Virajpet
PRO: Mrs Hema Urs, Social worker, Mysore
Liason Officer: Rtn Anne Divya Madaiah, Coffee plater, Virajpet

It was also decided to take 8 members from Bangalore, Kollegal, Mundgod and Gurpur.
