Dharamsala, August 25 – The members of the Task Force on Negotiations under the auspices of the Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, held a meeting from August 23 to 24 at the Kashag Secretariat.
This is the fifth meeting of the Task Force since its establishment in 1998.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the results of the two visits of the envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Lhasa and other Tibetan areas and to China to meet with the concerned officials in September last year and May – June this year.
The meeting also discussed ways and means to strengthen and to enrich these contacts so that the right atmosphere could be created for serious negotiations on the issue of Tibet.
The Kalon Tripa and the two envoys briefed His Holiness the Dalai Lama this morning on the two- day meeting.
