Three separate meetings in coordination with the Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch were also held from July 30 to August 2 in Chandigarh, Shimla and Kangra to garner Indian people’s support for the Tibet cause. Mr. N. K Trikha, National Convenor, Indian Core Group for Tibetan Cause were among many eminent Indian supporters and intellectuals who attended the meetings.

The local Tibetan settlement officers and members of the various local NGOs also were present during those meetings.

According to Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, the President of National Democratic Party of Tibet, the meetings were very successful in creating Tibet awareness amongst the local Indian residents who were keen to extend all sorts of support to the Tibetans and the Central Tibetan Administration headed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

” The programmes were able to receive a wide coverage in the local newspapers and other media channels”, Acharya said in a statement sent to tibet.net.
