Dharamsala, July 29 – The Kalon Tripa of the Central Tibetan Administration has returned to Dharamsala after a successful tour of two of the Tibetan settlements in Central India.

In what seem to have been a follow up his earlier visits to the Tibetan agricultural settlements in south India, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche left Dharamsala on July 13 on a ten-day visit to Mainpat and Orissa to give talks on his government’s policy of non-violence and organic farming.

The Kalon Tripa was received by the representative of the Phendeling Tibetan settlement, Mainpat, Chattisgarh state on the 15 July.

During his three-day halt in Mainpat, the Kalon Tripa held a series of meetings with the representatives, heads of the different villages, staff members of the cooperative society and the general public. Rinpoche’s sheer love for children and his background as a school teacher became apparent when he took out time to talk to the Tibetan students of the central Tibetan school, Mainpat.

The Kalon Tripa arrived at Phuntsok Ling Tibetan settlement, Orissa on July 19.

In the second round of his tour, the Kalon Tripa gave talks on his government’s policies based on truth and non violence during meetings held with the local assembly, members of the local Tibetan freedom movement, staff of the cooperative society, students and staff of the Central Tibetan School and the Tibetan settlers.

The Kalon Tripa also attended the fourth “Seminar on Agriculture” on July 22. Rinpoche left Orissa on the same day to reach Dharamsala on the 24th.
