Panel Discussion on China, India and Tibet

Dharamsala, July 19 – The Bharat-Thibet Sahyog Manch, Himachal Pradesh will hold a panel discussion on Indian Prime Minister’s recent visit to China and its impact on Tibet. It will be held at Dauladhar Hotel in Dharamsala on 22 July.

The panel includes Dr. R. N. Pal, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala; and Dr. Kuldip Chand Agnihotri of Himachal Pradesh University. The discussion will be chaired by Mr. Abhimanyu Chopra, former chief spokesperson of Himachal Government.

Meanwhile the Regional unit of the organisation will increase its membership to 1000 by 31 August. This decision was taken during a meeting held on 13 July at Sundernagar, Himachal Pradesh.

Expressing a strong need for a de-centralised organisational structure, Mr. Sunil Manocha, State President, Bharat Thibet Sahyog Manch, has announced to hold district level meetings after the completion of the membership campaign.

The meeting was attended by the executive members and was presided over by Shri Pandit Jaganath, its patron.

In a press statement issued today, the organisation has also announced its plan to conduct a National Convention of the Indian Tibet Support Groups in Chandigarh from 5-7 September 2003.
