A TIBETAN medicine weekend will be held in the Ard Café, 15 Cross St from Friday July 4 to Sunday 6, with a documentary screening and consultations with a Tibetan qualified practitioner of Tibetan medicine.
On Friday, a documentary on Tibetan medicine – The Knowledge Of Healing will be shown at 8pm. This will give people a background on Tibetan medicine and show its unique benefits. The film focuses on the Dalai Lama’s doctor and leads a practice on Tibetan medicine. The Tibetan doctor, Dr Bumchung will be there with his translator Gyalpo Tashi to answer any questions.
On Saturday and Sunday Dr Bumchung will hold consultations. Dr Bumchung is a highly qualified practitioner of Tibetan medicine and has 19 years of experience in treating successfully through herbal Tibetan supplements and spiritual healing practices in Tibet and India.
A holistic approach is used in each treatment, taking into account each individual’s body, mind, and spirit. It looks at imbalance which is caused by improper diet or lifestyle, which in turn cause mental or physical problems. Treatment involves diet and behavioural advcse combined with herbal supplements.
