Dharamsala, May 31 – Kalon Tripa, Professor Samdong Rinpoche, will leave Dharamsala today on an official tour of Tibetan settlements in South India. The tour is expected to last from 1 to 12 June and will cover Bangalore, and settlements in Bylakuppe, Hunsur and Kollegal.
Kalon Tripa will reach Bangalore on 1 June, where he will be received by Mr. Ngodup Dorjee, the chief representative of the Central Tibetan Administration in South India.
From there, he will visit Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement. The itinerary for the Bylakuppe trip includes visiting schools, monasteries and various institutions. Kalon Tripa will also meet with the local Tibetan officials and members of the Tibetan People’s Assembly.
Kalon Tripa will leave for Hunsur Rabgyaling settlement on 6 June. He will be there till the 8 June.
During the last leg of the tour, Kalon Tripa will visit Kollegal Dhondeling settlement. In Kollegal, Kalon Tripa will meet with officials of the settlements. He is also scheduled to visit the Central School for Tibetans in Kollegal and will speak to the teachers and students of the school. He will hold a public talk at the Dzogchen Gompa on the 10 June. Kalon Tripa will leave Kollegal on the same day and return to Dharamsala on 12 June.
This is Professor Samdhong Rinpoche’s first official tour of Tibetan settlements in South India since assuming his office.
