Bangalore Tibetan students participate in ‘FOOTPRINTS 3.O’

Bangalore, February 8 – The Tibetans students in Bangalore participated in the Northeast and Tibetan Cultural Festival titled ‘FOOTPRINTS 3.O’. Organized by the Northeast and Tibetan students Forum of the St. Joseph Arts and Science College, the festival showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tibet and northeastern India.

The governor of the Karnataka state Sri. Hans Raj Bhardwaj presided over the inaugural function as chief guest. Kunga Dorjee, the chief representative of south zone Tibetan settlements, also attended the event.

Cultural performances and Tibetan cuisines were also some of the highlights of the festival. The Tibetan students also sang “Thank you India” song composed by the Tibetan Institute of Performing arts to commemorate the fiftieth year of Tibetan exile and India’s hospitality.

Principal St Joseph’s College, Fr Ambrose Pinto, said that the college respects every culture and community with their differences. He claimed that the fest is unique and only one of its kind among all colleges in Bangalore.

Themed on ‘A cultural amalgamation’ the festival intended to bridge cultural gap and bring students together by providing a platform to showcase their distinct culture and tradition.
