Sanga community to lead a peaceful solidarity demonstration in Dharamsala

Dharamsala, March 28: Tibetan Sanga (monastic) Community of Dharamsala, which include monasteries and nunneries, are to organize a day-long peaceful demonstration on Saturday to show solidarity to the Tibetan people for their recent demonstrations against Chinese rule in their homeland.

The peaceful procession will begin with a gathering of Sanga at Tsuglagkhag (Main Tibetan Temple) between 12:00 to 12:30 pm. Education Minister of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile Mr thupten Lungrig will address the opening function.

The monks and public participants will then take a peaceful procession from the Tsuglag-Khang to the main McLeocd square and then back to the temple.

According to Institute of Buddhist Dialectics based here in Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, the monastic community would also welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama as he arrives in Dharamsala from Delhi on Saturday.

The community will then hold prayer session and signature campaign to highlight the plight of Tibetan people.

Later in the evening, the group will then hold candle light vigil again from Tsuklag khang to Mecleod and then back to Temple.

Tibetan Prime Minister Prof. Samdong Rinpoche is scheduled to address the evening gathering.
