His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit Barcelona after 10 years

Barcelona (Spain), June 10: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has accepted invitation of Fundació Casa del Tibet, (Tibet House Foundation Barcelona) to visit the Catalan capital on September 10 and 11 this year.

During the two-day tour of the Catalan capital, His Holiness is to give a Public Talk and inaugurate the new headquarters of the Foundation.

People of the area now have a great reason to rejoice over the news of revered Tibetan leader’s rare visit to the area. The place is welcoming the Dalai Lama again after 10 years.

Fundació Casa del Tibet is already busy preparing each detail of the program with an effort to make sure that His Holiness’ blessing and the universal message of peace, warm heartedness and compassion reaches out to maximum people here.

As of now, the Public Talk is scheduled to take place in Palau Sant Jordi of Barcelona at 1500 hrs. on September 10.

Entry for the talk will be on ticket basis, which the organisers intend to make it available shortly along with detail information on the foundation’s website – www.casadeltibetbcn.org.

Tibetans in Barcelona earlier on July 6 celebrated 72nd Birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with special show performance by one of the most popular exile Tibetan singers, Phurbu T. Namgyal.

The Tibetan community led by Ven. Kushog Wangchen, Director of the Barcelona based Foundation and Geshe Lamsang and Geshe Jamphel held prayers dedicated to the long life of His Holiness.

As Phurbu T. Namgyal presented his popular numbers, Tibetans joined him to sing along with such euphoria. Other Tibetan cultural songs and dances were also performed.

After a special entertaining raffle draws, the celebration event finally concluded as the local community members sang in solemn pride the national anthem of Tibet and Catalonia.

Catalonia with Barcelona as its capital, is one of the constituent autonomous communities of Spain divided into four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
