Arrested members of TYC remanded for Judicial Custody

New Delhi, October 25 – A Special Executive Magistrate today ordered and sent 27 members of TYC to Tihar Central Jail and has been remanded for judicial custody till 31st October. One member was released on personal bond because of his respiratory problem and weak health. These members of TYC were arrested yesterday while staging demonstration against the delegations led by Chinese Senior Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo in front of Chinese Embassy at New Delhi.

‘Whereas from the report of Station Head Officer, Chanakyapuri Police Station, it appears that these demonstrators on 24/10/2003 at about 6:30 PM at near China Embassy, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi tried to stop Chinese delegation and also created nuisance there. They also cried loudly slogans against them. They also threatened them with dire-consequences. And thus have disturbed the peace and public tranquility within the area of this court’. TYC hopes that all the arrested members would be released on 27th October.
