Nepal Buddhist Welfare Association express grave concern about the fate of 18 Tibetan Asylum seekers deported to China by Nepal government, the deportees including eight unaccompained minors, some as 13.

Nepal Buddhist welfare Association urge the government not to deport Tibetan refugee in future, such a move would represent an act of “refoulment” prohibited by International Law.

Nepal Buddhist Welfare Association urge the government to follow the rule of UNHCR. The government should respect the Human Rights & UNHCR rule. The action taken by the government to the Tibetan Asylum seekers not only violates international norms & practices regarding human treatment of asylum seekers but also tarnishes the government of Nepal’s long standing & well deserved reputation for tolerance & hospitality.

Justice for peace & human rights!
