Tibetans want Panchen Lama freed

Over 500 Tibetans of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) and Regional Tibetan Women’s Congress (RTWC) today staged a demonstration here seeking the release of the Panchen Lama, Tranzin Gendun Chokyi Niyama, held by the Chinese.

Concern over Panchen Lama’s detention

The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, while celebrating the 15th birthday of 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Cheokyi Nyima here today, expressed its concern about his continued detention for last eight years by the Chinese authorities.
