President Aliyev Expresses Support to China’s Efforts on Fighting Separatism in Tibet

Lu Goutzan, deputy foreign minister of People’s Republic of China, stressed that China considered Azerbaijan a friendly country and stood for development of multi-sided relations with Azerbaijan.

The development of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations has been in the focus of President Heydar Aliyev’s meeting with Lu Goutzan, deputy foreign minister of People’s Republic of China, yesterday.

The Chinese diplomat stressed that China considered Azerbaijan a friendly country and stood for development of multi-sided relations with Azerbaijan.

He also expressed China’s support for territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and resolution of the Karabakh conflict in compliance with the international law principles.

Aliyev in turn has stressed that Azerbaijan stands for preservation of territorial integrity of China and supports Beijing in its fight with separatism in Tibet and resolution of the Taiwan problem.

Concerning the development of economic cooperation, Aliyev has called on Chinese companies to actively invest into Azerbaijan’s economy, particularly petroleum sector.
