Kullu Tibetan Youth Rally for 11th Panchen Lama

Kullu, June 2 - Former college students of Delhi and Chandigarh Jointly organised a street play to create awareness about the Tibet issue and to campaign for the immediate release of the 11th Panchen Lama Gendun Choekyi Nyima. A modest function was held here which was participated by president and members of Indo Tibetan Friendship Society and Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch. The members of the two organisations gave encouraging speeches to the Indian masses urging the local people to support the Tibetan cause. Retired Colonel Prem Chand Dogra, Active member of ITFS Kullu, said that the youth have the ability to bring revolution in the world. But, he said, it needs unity among the Tibetan youths to fight their cause.

The street play was shown in Kulllu valley through peace march and was attended by Tibetan and Indians residing in Kullu Valley. They marched towards Pathlikuhl and continued to perform the street play to bring awareness among local People about the fate of the young Panchen Lama and the Tibet issue.

Around 40 Tibetan youths residing in Kullu and Pathlikuhl actively participated in this rally which was wrapped up in Manali. Sonam Dorjee, organiser of the event, said that the basic objective of the rally is not only to educate the people about Panchen Lama, but also to encourage the youth in Kullu valley and remind them of their responsibilities regarding Tibetan cause.

The Concluding Function was attended by the welfare officer Karma Senge who said in his address that such events are needed in future to bring awareness among the Indian public.
