Dalai Lama leaves on 10-day Japan visit

DHARAMSHALA, Nov. 9: Exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama today flew to the Indian Capital New Delhi from the Gaggal airport here. He is scheduled to visit Japan for a 10-day schedule beginning Saturday.

The office of the Tibetan leader said that His Holiness will begin his schedule in Japan from 14 November where he will give a teachings on The Heart Sutra (sherab nyingpo), Je Tsongkhapa’s Praise to the Buddha for His Teachings on Dependent Origination (tendrel toepa) & Kamalashila’s The Middle Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa) and confer the Avalokiteshvara Initiation (chenresig jigten wangchuk wang) on Nov. 15.

He will also hold a dialogue between Buddhist science and modern science with three scientists at the Pacifico Yokohama (National Convention Hall of Yokohama) on 16 November. The events are being organized at the request of the Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (NPO Tibet House Japan).

On 17 November, His Holiness will give a public talk to the youth on One – We Are One Family at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall which is organized by Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute and will attend the opening ceremony of Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute in Chiba, Japan on 18 November.

The Tibetan leader will also participate in the celebrations of the birthday of Guru Nanak in the Indian capital.

The 83-year-old will return to Dharamshala on 25 November.
