Dharamsala September 12– The 9 activists of the Tibetan Youth Congress who were earlier arrested for protesting the Chinese Foreign Minister’s visit to India have been released yesterday. The activists were protesting on Monday outside the Hotel Taj Mansingh Palace in the Indian capital where Yang Jiechi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, was in a meeting with Indian leaders.

The activists, who have been charged under CRPC section 107/151, were released on bail. A modest function to welcome the activists was arranged at the Samyeling Tibetan colony in Majnu Ka Tilla. The leader of the Tibetan camp, Rinchen Phuntsok, while appreciating the efforts of the TYC, urged the TYC to continue their campaigns and also assured all possible assistance from the Tibetan settlers in Delhi. The activists were garlanded with traditional Tibetan scarves in recognition of their selfless political acts.

Tsuiltrim Dorjee, the TYC’s Information Secretary, lauded the support his organization has received from the Tibetans in Delhi to its political activities in the Indian capital. He requested the Tibetans to continue their support to the TYC in future.
