On behalf of malaysia I would like to thank all Tibetans for thier prayers and dalai lama's condelences. Although as of today at least 70 malaysians died but many more are still missing in Phuket and Chennai. In Malaysia we cancelled all count down new year parties to hold prayers for the tsunami hit victims. Different religions had all joint efforts to hold specfial paryer sessions. Malaysia has many generous contributors and i guess our country has sufficient funds for our own families of victims that were struck by the tidal waves. We have relief organisations and Buddhist centres here sending food, clothes, medicine to Sri-Langka, India and Acheh. Just yesterday the first shipment of supplies from the Maha Vihara Buddhist temple (Theverada sect) sent the first shipment to Sri Langka and Chennai. Death toll is rising tremendously in Acheh and I hope that all of us pray for them even though they are mulsims and send whatever aid you can to them.

THIS IS RESPONSE TO TOPGYAL UTTER LACK OF SENSITIVITIES.

I REGRET THE LOSS OF PROPERTY BY THE RESIDENT OF MCLEOD GANJ. THEY HAVE BEEN COMPENSATATED BY TGIE, LOCAL AND DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION.

THE LOSS SUFFERED BY FIRE AT MC LEOD IS JUST A MOLE IN COMPARISION WITH THE THAT OF TSUNAMI DISASTER.

TEN OF THOUSAND OF CHILDRENS ARE ORPHANED AND OVER 1.2 LAKH PEOPLE DIED AND THOUSAND STILL MISSING.

INDIA IS THE COUNTRY THAT HAS HELP US MOST IN THE MOST DIFFICULT PERIOD OF OUR HISTORY NOT THE WEST. WHO GAVE US SHELTER TO TENS OF THOUSANDS SINCE 1959. IT IS TIME TO PAY BACK.

AVERAGE TIBETANS ARE FAR BETTER THAN INDIAN ECONOMICALLY.

OD I REALISE KNOW THAT HOW GRATEFUL I AM TO.

I guess for the tsunami victims the whole world is contributing. I don't think our help will make any big difference but, just to give you the picture, if you really want to give my perception is that Tibetans who have suffered the loss by the fire that engulfed downtown Mcleodganj would be wiser. That's my personal stand and I do not object anyone helping the tsunami victims. You might say the TGIE helps but how much can TGIE do. They are also in need of monetery fund and as in case of us "Tibetans" who gives us financial backup or help? I guess it might ring something in your head.

Your intuition nevertheless is very good and I appreciate.

I would appreciate if D/Sala create a donation center where people willing to help can send their help at earliest.

Tib.govt.should urgently initiate collecting donations from tibetans worldwide to help the tsunami victims. This is what they really need now........

Dear Tibetan Brothers and sisters,
it is right time for the Tibetans to show how helpful and compassionate towards other beings.
so i think instead of performing prayers for the victims, it is better go there at the affected area to rescue and give help like we did during Gujarat tradegy in 2001. the Tibetan govt. in exile (Dept of Religion) should take initial steps to form a rescue crew.
I think from such help will benefit the Tibetans in the future in upgrading or to make stronger relationship the two people.
STEP FORWARD!

appreciate the prayers organized by the cta for the victims of the tsunami.

the magnitude of the earthquake mentioned in your article is not correct. the magnitude 8.9 has been corrected to 9.0. please do verify it on reliable websites like bbc,...etc. it is quite a matter of negligance and shame, especially when the source of the article is the official website of our exile-govt. (i.e. tibet.net).

with deepest prayers for the victims of the tsunami.
