No sophistcated argument needed Wang. China is not bad. Communism is. Communism is evil and if I had my way you Chinese would stop waiting around a set up another Goddess of Liberty and Democracy in the Forbidden Palace. Release the good, human potnetial of your country and free mine.

This is a fantastic introspective & critical article by a well-known mainland Chinese intellectual. It's surprising to see a Chinese writer recognize PRC rule over Tibet for exactly what it is: imperialism & colonialism. Moreover, Wang Lixiong deconstructs PRC propaganda about Tibet & demonstrates just how culturally imperialistic Chinese propaganda (and actions) truly is.

As I've said before, Chinese rule over Tibet is not just about human rights & self-determination, it's pure colonialism, and even the most benign colonial regimes are still imperialist & harmful to native peoples.

Woeser's work are the kind of work needed to hit the enemy on her weak spot and really appreciative of it! The except from the story at the end, made me cry too because the authors mean what it would be if Tibetans leave into exile and live there forever, while Chinese are pouring in, specially with Rail-construction. I appreciate all Tibetans who are inside and outside equally working for the just cause of Tibet.
