Readers' Comments on "What If India Had Won The 1962 War Against China?"
Tibet would have been liberated; the loss of face would have made China retreat into its shell instead of becoming an aggressive imperialist....and of course India's Marxists would have been defanged....

We lost Tibet not because others did not help. But because too many foked up Kutaks ruled with Iron Hand, somwthing very similar to Chinese. The only problem is same as-howls still rules form Dharmsala with same mentality but in the name of Human Rights or yap yap yap. Unless their mentaility changes or until they think of including all different Tibetan ethnicity, we will never be united interally to fight the external forces.

Now that's the real problem and time is running out. yet folks in Dharmsala have same attitude towards other minorities.

Subject: Read chinese history u people before talking about tibet
Dec 21 2004 01:17 AM

Tibet was conqured by china 200 years ago in the Ching (Qing) dynasty, when the nationalist left china when they lost the civil war in 1949. it was a nationlist province. so communist china when on the unite the country.
and oh yea, i hope u know why you are crying for tibet to be independent, int he 1940s, while the chinese where in their worse state, the british send agents to tibet and help create independence, they failed, obviously the some resistance has been set up, so the chinese has to clear out the rebellious people.
hey texas was mexcian, why not give it back to them??!?!? surely if the mexcians in texas rebel, u americans wil send an army and destory the rebels, or lock them away as this is ur way to show u as being civilised. makes me laugh out loud really. some people doesnt know their history and ty to argue the topic.
and oh yea, america is the land of the red indians, why not go back to your homelands?!!? at least u did more bad then the chinese to the tibetans, at least they are building up the cities in tibet, u try going there, u killed 99% of the red indians, today some red indian populations are staging riots, but u see ur governments dun show them. which proves??
in fact your "democratic government" is still as dictatoral in the sense, why dun they reveal the truth about the british agents in tibet?
moral of the story? look in the mirror before u talk and know the facts before u argue something. because we dun want ignorant posts which wastes our time. please
thank you

1962 war was nothing special for Tibet. It was the first time in their history. Tibet been ignored by most of the world especially by Great Britain and the neighbours. For the British, Tibet was less important then Hong Kong policy. For the rest they were newborn Nations and busy for mobilize to their developments. Loose of Tibet was great tragedy not only for Tibetan, it is also for completely central Asia. The country like Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and how many bombs been thrown in Vietnam that is not continent of America, there are still difficulties of vegetation growth, and children were born with handicap, now in Nepal. Tibet has been very important role between the two largest populations of the world of his existence and between Tibet and India were always been peaceful Nations. India does not need to spend billions of billions rupees every each year for Indo-Tibetan border security against the Chinese Communist who became new enemy since 1962 war.
India will be one of the strongest Nation in Asia concerning border expense. If India wins 1962 war against Mao's China it is very good for India, but India did not go father due to of USSR supporting their alliance China. Which was wrong move otherwise there are many things to negotiate with China not only the border also environment and especially the floods for the better security and economy. At that time, Shastri was the Defence Minister and how did he passed away inside the Soviet Union and why Nehru did not answer the same question of Kennedy on Communist China at White House. It was Nehru's mission to Kennedy for loan for India's development projects that failed. However, Nehru was raison not to involve in USA politics, which was not his objective, but for the Tibet, which will be little help. Nehru also ignored H.H. the Dalai Lama when he attained 2500 years of Buddha's Jayanti in 1957. Anyway past is past, let us face to the future. "Paradise of Shiva and Parvati suffering, Son of Brahma is sad to see the suffering of Bangladesh. Gangotri could not show the better reincarnation to her followers, so the Bharat wants to prostrate under the Himavat".

So in that case all white men should get the hell out of America....isn't the indigenous people Red Indians? Don't you undestand white ghost? ...and Africans should kick whites out a long long time ago especially in South Africa....and also the white prisoners should get out of Australia and return to their queen...isn't it? let me give you a piece of advice ie to to read the ancient history b4 you comment...americans want to stop communism...china just want to keep their nation intact.
