The Chinese Ambassador says the reasons why Americans are denied entry to Tibet is because the altitude & to control the number of visitors. However, China allows about 2 million Chinese tourists to visit Tibet without any restrictions & the majority are from lowland or coastal areas. And if the number of tourists each year is a problem, why does China allow unrestricted access to Chinese tourists which are about 2 million per year (the TAR population is only about 2.5 million)? It's a fake explanation for a fake restriction that is actually based on politics. The CCP doesn't want the West knowing the truth about Tibet & that Tibetans are oppressed & under foreign occupation.
