Subject: TYC chapters must support rangzen
Jul 28 2015 12:39 AM

I hope TYC Centrex will properly discipline any chapters who deviate from the TYC Charter by not supporting independence (rangzen) for Tibet. TYC chapter of NY/NJ this past March 10 supported autonomy for Tibet & supported the ban of rangzen supporters from the March 10 protest. This was not only violation of free speech under US law but a violation of the TYC Charter.

If a chapter fails to abide by the Charter, then their membership should be revoked. The regional chapter can be handed over to members who actually support rangzen & the TYC Charter.

One of the problems in NY chapter is any Tibetan can vote in TYC regional elections, not just TYC members. This allows those who harbor ulterior motives to change TYC to get elected by encouraging their supporters to attend elections & vote en bloc for their candidate. To avoid this, the rules should be amended to allow only TYC members to vote in TYC elections, not any Tibetan in the community.
