His holiness has quite sensibly dismissed any negative inferences we might make with regards to the preemptive cancellation of this prearranged meetings. India developing good relations with china is a political priority and an absolute important necessity. Tibet is the keeper of India's Buddhadharma. The Dalai Lama Is Tibet's very own '' Heavenly Mandate ''
The Buddhas representative on the earth.

Subject: Cancellation sends wrong message
May 12 2015 07:15 PM

PM Modi's decision to have his aide & BJP President Shah cancel the visit with His Holiness the Dalai Lama sends the wrong message to China, to the Indian and Tibetan peoples, and to the world. India is an independent sovereign nation. It should not let China or any other nation dictate its policies or who govt leaders can meet with on Indian soil. India does not have to kowtow to China to maintain good relations w/ China.

The Dalai Lama is already a refugee in India. Everyone knows this. Meeting w/ His Holiness will no more upset relations w/ China than what India is already doing by allowing His Holiness asylum in India. It makes no logical sense.

Finally, India is a democracy that respects religious freedom & human rights. This cancellation sends a signal that India will not stand up for human rights or justice.
