Subject: Support democracy for Hong Kong
Oct 03 2014 08:06 PM

I support genuine democracy for Hong Kong and I'm glad Tibetans in Dhasa came out in support for HK democracy protestors. China is reneging on its promise to give genuine universal suffrage to HK which is required by the Basic Law.

In 1951, China promised Tibet autonomy in the 17-Point Agreement but reneged on its promises and the result was the 1959 Tibetan rebellion & decades of oppression that continues to this day. History seems to be repeating itself in HK.

Kudos to TYC & other Tibetans in Dhasa for this show of support for HK. But where is the CTA? Why hasn't the Sikyong or the TPIE made any public comments in support of HK democracy? Is it because the CTA does not support democracy for Tibet so they have no reason to support democracy for HK?
