Swami Vivekananda named for his Perception and wisdom was a great Patriotic Indian Saint.
He was the foremost representative in the West of India and Hinduism (India’s spiritualism- Vedanta and Yoga) Many times in parliament in the west he spoke of Hinduism and Buddhism and harmony among religions. He inspired many around the world and was responsible for bringing Yoga, Meditation and other spiritual self-improvement in the west. His guru was the enlightened yogi Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
Of course Hinduism, just like Buddhism has now sadly become an organized Religion and no doubt it may have a purpose to serve. But thankfully remnants of the Yogic culture and the teachings of evolving human consciousness still remain. Hopefully those teachings will be revived to its pure as transmitted by Aadi Yogi Shiva in ancient India to the 7 rishis - who in turn carried it throughout the world and can be seen in different manifestations around the world.
It is befitting that HHDL be invited to unveil the statue of Vivekananda.
