First I want to congadulate Tenzin Chokyi la for her hard work and determination to acheive such a high mark on here finals. Unlike in the west, the Indian method and standard of examination are much harder. Hope your determination to succeed will continue to be strong and be an inspiration to all other students.

I agree with the above comments. This scholarship would have been much more meaningful and precious to the recipient if it was called Dalai Lama scholarship instead of Sikyong scholarship.

Did you see those thanka pictures in the background? Where can I buy thanka of Lobsang Sangay? I want to hang those in my prayer room. LOL. Unbelievable!

Congrats to T Dickyi la. Why is it called Sikyong's Scholarship? Is it a personal gift from Lobsang la or from the Sikyong's fund if there is one. It would have been more appropriate if it is named after one of the great scholars.

The key to Tenzin Chokyi's sucess is her hard work and preparing for Class X11 board by putting 18 hrs of hard work during her winter holidays after Class X1, so she prepared for herself a head for the Class X11 year. She did not leave for the last minutes. Everybody should make use of their winter holidays after class 9 to prepare for Class X and prepare for Class X11 during winter break after Class 11. So that you prepared one year a head.

First of all, my heartfelt congratulations to Tenzin Chokyi la. You deserve it! While reading this news on Phayul, for the first time I had the opportunity to peek inside Lobsang Singye la's office through the photo published with the news article. Interestingly I notice Lobsang Singye la's picture pasted and posed along the Buddha ( the thanka in the background.) I am wondering what was on his mind when he displayed that thanka in his office; was he thinking he is the Buddha to the Tibetans like His Holiness the Dalai Lama?
